The Tejas is cut from pebble grain leather, which is the practical choice rather than the showy one. Smooth leather looks beautiful for a fortnight and then shows every scuff you collect. Grain hides them, which is why it has always been the leather for shoes people actually wear rather than display. Made in our own factory in Tamil Nadu, in a group that has spent seven decades producing footwear for brands sold across Europe and the United States.
Elastic gores at the sides let it stretch as your foot goes in, then hold. There is a pull loop at the heel for the mornings you are in a hurry. Underneath, a cushioned cup sole with a low profile, so it works with jeans and chinos without looking like a trainer that got dressed up. Wear it to the office on a Friday, to the airport, or for the whole weekend.
